Totems, hoarding, and ground markings: A winning trio for a renovated district in Nanterre

The Papeteries district in Nanterre will reveal its new face in 2023. The SEMNA/SPLNA (Public-Private Partnership for the Development and Management of the City of Nanterre) found an ideal partner in Celize, whose large-format display solutions are designed to draw attention to the project’s goals: revitalizing the area, creating sustainable jobs, highlighting existing natural and built heritage, and following exemplary sustainable development practices.

A turning point...

This is a significant change for the Papeteries district. The project is characterized by new public spaces open to the Seine, a promenade dedicated to eco-friendly transportation, and abundant greenery. It also includes an economic dynamic with next-generation office spaces, a business park, shops, and a fitness center.

The former industrial wasteland, once dedicated to paper production, will be transformed into a new living space for the people of Nanterre. The City Hall, SEMNA/SPLNA, the WO2/BNP Paribas group, and the Hauts-de-Seine Department are all involved in this project, with the communication entrusted to Celize.

...That deserves striking communication...

Celize’s team, experts in construction site communication, opted for the simultaneous use of several display formats to meet both the informational needs of the project and its promotion.

Placed in strategic locations, two LIZ totems (model 60°) detail the future development: description, annotated plan, timeline, and partners. These triangular outdoor exhibition displays are perfectly suited to pedestrian height. They are modular and flexible, offering a wide range of dimensions and printing options (rigid, banner…). The visuals are also interchangeable and reusable.

Made from maritime pine wood, the LIZ totem aligns with an eco-responsible approach, in full coherence with the sustainable development aspect of the future district. Its ballast without ground anchoring reinforces this concern while ensuring a robust and secure system, certified by a design office.

...And expert staging

The two LIZ totems produced by Celize are part of a route that also includes hoardings and ground markings. The communication supports complement each other. A route was created from the first totem on the station forecourt to the second totem, ending with a large hoarding summarizing the project’s key points.

A color code connects the different elements, creating overall harmony. The dibond hoarding allows for custom dressing and successful integration into the urban landscape. Ground markings, made with PVC stencils and long-lasting paint, guide passersby from start to finish, sparking interest and curiosity. Celize’s team is involved in every stage of the process: from site identification to technical and creative design, production, printing, and safe installation.
