The wood: a construction… and communication material!
For your future urban communication campaigns, bet on aesthetics and well-being with wooden display supports! Celize, a specialist in large-format urban communication, explains how to make the most of this timeless material.
Wood: a factor of well-being for city dwellers
Urban well-being is one of the major issues for the coming century. Now, city residents strongly desire to live in harmony with nature, in a serene environment that is both ergonomic, aesthetic, and soothing. From this perspective, wood is one of the most popular materials. The appearance, touch, and smell of wood calm us. It is even proven that the mere presence of wood (in the form of a tree or furniture) can help reduce our stress. Other recent studies show that an environment rich in wooden structures immediately soothes us, lowers our pulse and blood pressure.
A vector of positive emotions, wood is also a high-performance material: it withstands weather and aging (it is rot-resistant). Finally, it is a renewable and recyclable material with a very low carbon footprint (it is less energy-consuming than steel or concrete), which will practically reflect your company’s ecological concerns. Better yet: since wood captures CO2 from the atmosphere, it is considered a “carbon sink,” contributing to slowing climate change.
What could be better, then, than a wooden support for your future communication campaigns? This warm material attracts attention and immediately puts locals in a favorable mood – your message will be more positively received. The pleasant aspect of wood and the values it conveys will reflect, more or less consciously, on your brand or product. Thus, wood reinforces your eco-responsible image.
Our flagship products
Since 2012, Celize has been developing wooden solutions for urban dressing. An expertise that is particularly embodied in three flagship products:
The wooden hoarding. All in length, the hoarding is often used to hide a construction site from the public. While metal or plastic can disfigure the landscape, wood integrates harmoniously into any neighborhood without ever disturbing residents. Various messages can be placed along the hoarding to provide information to passersby – for example, telling a story in chronological order to exploit the horizontality of the support.
The wooden construction site sign. Fixed on blocks or hung on a wall, the construction site sign can be of any size and shape. This support is ideal for communicating about the ongoing construction site, announcing a new urban plan or traffic plan.
The wooden urban totem display. Visible from afar, the totem can be placed close to urban traffic or even in the middle of a crowd without ever getting in the way. Perfect for event communication, as well as construction communication, this tool will be particularly useful for informing and guiding users.
Wood: a source of inspiration
Wooden supports are starting points. They invite us to think differently and open new creative perspectives for even more original and impactful communication operations.
To begin, we recommend choosing the wood species that suits you best, as no two trees are alike in terms of color, grain, veining… For urban communication, the two most common species are larch (fine grain, brown and pink hue) or pine (inexpensive, durable, light hue). But there are many others! Moreover, not all species have the same technical characteristics (resistance, ease of cutting, etc.). To avoid getting lost, do not hesitate to ask us for advice!
Next, we will see what role wood plays in your communication. Is it a standalone decorative element, or is it integrated into a more complex ensemble? Our teams will help you integrate “wood elements” in coherence with your overall strategy to reach your target as effectively as possible. Because wood works with almost all associations. Textures, colors… Everything suits it! Vegetal elements naturally enhance it and provide contrast. Wood can also serve as an exterior support for all your printed content; one will enhance the other mutually. Wood can even serve as a material for creating a set, more or less realistic, more or less spectacular – you just have to dare.
The choice of your display solution and its implementation are guided by aesthetic, technical, and practical criteria. To these are now added environmental criteria.
